Jennifer Granholm’s favorite Republican visits ‘The War Room’ to make the case for campaign finance reform and an end to partisan politics. “This election is the worst I’ve ever seen,” former Louisiana governor and presidential candidate Buddy Roemer says. “You know it’s about the money … We need to have a timeout on the big checks and the partisan politics.” His progressive take on the issues prompts Granholm to ask, “Buddy Roemer, why don’t just declare yourself to be a Democrat?” Tune in Weeknights at 9:00/8:00c on Current TV current.com

I’d vote for him, but he’s never gonna be in power with the system we have now. We need to prohibit elected officials from taking money from special interest groups.
I like Buddy. Wish he did better in the primary.
Jennifer Granholm is terribly uninteresting at best. That insincere laugh at the end represents everything I hate about these political shows that try to be a little bit of everything.
For all that is good!
Would someone @ Current recognize that Sam Seder deserves a show!?
Buddy Roemer.. is this guy member of GOP? :O It’s hard to imagine that because he seems to have brains.
@2Critical4You
That’s assuming he existed (which I’m still not sold on).
@sinlaael I feel the same.
Jesus was a socialist liberal. He wanted people to share the fished and the loafs and he was for helping people in need. Which is completely contrary to the republicans in the US that wants to remove public schools and defund programs that help the poor. But try to say that to a republican and they will go nuclear on you… Right wing Christian is an oxymoron as far as I’m concerned.
Buddy Roemer the only adult Republican in the room.
@skinlesscougar Ronald Reagan quadrupled the deficit while doubling the military budget and massively increasing the size and scope of the drug war and prison population and police state–same with Bush 1. If you go look at the government as a percentage of GDP, you will find that Clinton reduced this–it is a statistical fact. And then we have Bush 2 and the patriot act and two wars and more massive deficits and the prescription bill, and the removal of our civil rights–sorry we have moved R.
Hey Buddy! You make me proud to be from Louisiana!
@hatemorethanyou999 um… I read just fine, more government = left
Right= less government
Your saying they wanted more government and were right of Obama. What you mean is Obama is right of them. I wasn’t argueing with you so much as correcting your understanding of left and right. Clam down exclamation marks don’t make what you type any louder or clearer. I do disagree that our country has moved more right though, because we keep trying to get more and more government.
America responded to the Republicans last election by voting in a Democrat. Same ole Washington Politics. We need to RESPOND again to the Jackasses and Elephants by voting against both parties and see if Washington gets the Message This Time!!!! I hope Buddy Roemer goes Neutral with Americans Elect
@skinlesscougar What EXACTLY did I say that contradicts you??? Are you able to read? Eisenhower supported a 91% tax bracket–91% are you reading this–91% of all income above 400k was taxed and used by the government under Eisenhower–it was used for MASSIVE government programs like building the interstate highway system and rebuilding Europe after WWII–do you get it idiot! Eisenhower also proposed national government health care–so did Nixon. They were RIGHT of Obama. MORON!
@hatemorethanyou999 Far to the right? are you nuts far far right is anarchy how have moved anywhere near there? Left= more government right=Less government.
It’s too easy. Calvin Coolidge was Good right, Reagan was left of him, and everyone else is further left than them.
I like this guy
Dream cabinet: Buddy Roemer, Ralph Nader, Elizabeth Warren, etc: doesn’t matter what party, just what they want to get done
So he is a moderate.. okay thought they had died out. A shame that his message won’t show up at those who need it the most.
@TheMac6010 “a higher tax rate does not mean more to the left either there are other issues relating to that for the reason it went down . . .”
#1. You might want to consult a dictionary here–look up the word “progressive” or “liberal” in the dictionary as it relates to taxation policies–or simply google “liberal tax policy.” #2. What exactly were the “issues” that were different in the 1950′s and early 60′s?
@hatemorethanyou999 a higher tax rate does not mean more to the left either there are other issues relating to that for the reason it went down, it should go back up like Obama said in the SOTUS cause of the current probs now, cant compare now to then… to me that is what you don’t get…
@TheMac6010 Depends what your view of center is–Clinton and Obama are easily to the RIGHT of Eisenhower–what is there about a 91% tax bracket that you are not understanding? Romney would have paid 91% in taxes on most of what he made under Eisenhower–76% under Nixon. This country has moved far to the right, both parties!
